Oh, I dunno. I was just making fun of the fact the OP wrote "sentensed" in his subject line...
Oh shite I completely missed that

defense said yesterday they weren't appealing.
What's there to appeal?
"On appeal, we find the original sentence cruel and unusual and therefore are reducing the defendants sentence to 3,010 years."

Will civilization on earth still exist in 5333 AD?

I'd personally rather be dead then spend the rest of my life in prison esp if I was going in at a young age. With that said, in my mind, the former is less of a punishment than the later.

im all for him dying, but not by death penalty. That is too easy, im glad one juror was against it. i hope he suffers all kinds of pain in prison

I think they want to study him.

Burn that MF at the stake.
Posted on 8/27/15 at 9:05 am to TheAlmightySmash
We could use him in medical experiments, starve him, play REM 24/7 in his cell, release him in the wild and charge big game hunters to hunt him. Give proceeds to the victims...just a few ideas

Holmes was sentenced to 12 life terms for each of the people he killed. He also received 3,318 years for the 70 wounded.
I know our justice system has flaws but there has got to be a better way to handle mass murderers than to give them basically 55+ life sentences.
Any moderate OTer should know that yesterday is basically last week when it comes to breaking news on the OT. If you didn't post about it before it even happened, it's old news.

Did you have a solution in mind other than the death penalty?
Spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to feed and care for him for the remainder of his life doesn't seem fit for a monster of this caliber
Will cost easily that much trying to kill him. Is Colorado a big death penalty state? I dont know?
But trying to execute someone who IS nuts will be appealed for a decade.
This way he just rots. Rest of my life in a closet, with only insanity to keep me company? For 50+ years?

I don't disagree with you but virtually everyone appeals verdicts, sentences, etc these days.

so we pay for him to live comfortably in AC until he dies of old age? Sounds legit.

They said it was the 4th longest sentence in history.

Hundreds of thousands? No. At least not hundreds of thousands that wouldn't already be spent.
