This is fricking retarded. There’s so many other options like calling somebody or an Uber. What in the actual frick would compell somebody to do this.
The summer between my junior and senior year of school I worked an internship and I'd sometimes go in at like 6:30 AM. I used to always see this guy walking along the road in khakis and a polo with a computer bag. Looked to be mid-30's. It was a long road that was kind of secluded so I knew he had a decent walk. One day I pulled over and asked him if he needed a ride to work. He thanked me for the offer but said that he didn't mind walking and that he'd be okay.
I have a profound respect for a person's willingness to grind and be self-reliant.

At least now when his grandfather starts on his "I had to 20 miles to work" speech he can look him dead in the eye and say "so did I"
