don't know the temp, but duck hunting in a pit blind in NE Arkansas, water in blind turned to slush like and ice and field started freezing over quickly. Finally talked my FIL to bail.

-18 in Bozeman, MT for actual temperature. I think the coldest I've ever felt was in January 2010 when it got down around 15 in Gainesville, FL.

We flew out there in January 1999. The south had some freak cold front coming through, and it was actually warmer in Denver when we landed than when we took off in Dothan. But once we got up to the mountains, it was awfully cold for a bunch of southern boys. That jacket and boots you think are warm in south Alabama don't cut it in the mountains.
Coldest I've experienced was the January 2014 snow/ice storm in Birmingham. It stayed in the 20s in the daytime and dropped really low at night for several days in a row.

Now that's cold.......
It was the lovely metropolis of Minot, in mid-January. I was there for a week to train a client. They plug their cars in to keep their batteries from freezing. For a boy from LA, this seemed crazy.

For a boy from Louisiana that was crazy cold. But it was a really neat experience.
