Coinbase , one of the larger or largest bitcoin exchanges, is sending members an email about a new feature of theirs. It is a comprehensive report of all transactions, buying and selling, that you have made on their exchange. Included in the email is a link to the IRS website with the rules regarding declaring your virtual currency.

For those in the know, does this kill coinbase? Will other exchanges react by rejecting the Feds and moving to more privacy for their users?

Edit: the comprehensive report is supposedly for the users benefit. I don't see it that way.

What do they exchange the bitcoin for? Isn’t that what hitmen and drug dealers like?

Coinbase will live until there is a viable alternative.

The information is already there. It just allows a user to see gains and losses without doing a manual calculation. I don't see how it hurts anything...

That’s funny. Coinbase is the only one I had so much trouble importing to cointracking. What a pain in the arse. No problem with binance or bittrex.
