If you listen to his former teammates and coaches, Deion has always been a different person from his "Primetime" persona. At FSU, his dedication to his workout regimen is still considered legendary, and his favorite pasttime was fishing on Sundays with a white baw who worked in the athletic center. His NFL teammates similarly used to praise his discipline and interest in teammates' welfare.

Anyone who plays in an NFL game and a MLB playoff game in the same day isn't doing it just on talent alone.

He said when he was in HS once football season was over, he hoped that there was a basketball game that Saturday, then when basketball was over he couldn't wait to get on the baseball field.

He posted something awhile back about how kids should be encouraged to play multiple sports instead of dedicating to one when they are in middle and high school because kids will get burned out on that one sport and playing other sports allows you to use different skill sets that will make you better in other sports because you learn more ways of doing something.

People use to not like him because of his persona, but he used to get into WRs head. You didn't have to just try to beat him physically, but you had to not let him beat you mentally either. I like dudes who are good and let their opponents know it.

One of my best friends lived in Atlanta for a few years. He coached gymnastics to little girls (3-12 year olds). Deon’s spoiled little daughter was on the team. She did nothing but disrupt the practice. She told my friend that her dad told her she didn’t have to do anything at practice, that she didn’t want to do (doesn’t sound like a world class athlete).
My friend kicked her off the team and out of the school. Ole Deon came raising Hell, but the school held their ground, would not let her back.

I guy I went to HS with had an older brother that played college ball at a small school. They played FSU and he was on special teams.

There was a kickoff or punt and he ended up one on one with a shot at an open field tackle on Deon. Deon put a move on him and all he got a hand on was his towel.

He kept it because he knew that dude was going to be a super star.

I hear that as well but his year with the 9ers Jerry Rice called him out repeatedly for dogging it, especially Super Bowl week. But when asked about it Deion said "We knew we were going to beat the breaks of the Chargers".
