That idiot thinks that lobbyists will disappear from DC if we only dumped 10 trillion dollars more per year into it while taking over major American industries.
No, you don't understand upgrayedd, we completely missed the point.
Bernie is going to simultaneously eliminate greed AND increase the size and scope of governments influence in industry.
Why didn't anyone else just think of getting money out of politics by pumping in exponentially more money into politics. Its pretty genius.

That graph is misleading due to computerization and technology.
Yup.
I also learned to day that by giving the gov't more power it will reduce the amount of lobbyist trying to influence said power.

Unless Bernie plans on taking over the role of all current government contractors, there will be more lobbyists in DC on day 1 of his presidency than there have ever been.

Democrats don't want to eliminate "the rich".
quote:”The rich” by percent pay the vast majority of taxes. MOAR!!! isn’t a percentage.
We want them to pay their fair share of taxes (by %).
quote:Do you don’t want to eliminate the rich, you just don’t want people to be richer than workers. Sounds reasonable.
We don't see a reason CEOs in the 60' and 70's made 70 times more than an average worker at their companies but are suddenly worth 400-500 times their average worker today. Why is a CEO who bankrupts a company or underperforms given a $400M parachute payment for failing? Meanwhile, the ordinary guy at that company might get a severance package of 2-3 weeks pay despite going in and doing a good job every day?

I don't need to be rich..... But give me $3mil and you will never here from me again. I would never want a billion dollars.... That too much work for me .

The way the rich abuse tax laws, our tax system has nearly become regressive.

Does this rising tide lift all boats? Hardly. While billionaire fortunes balloon, about a fifth of Americans have zero or negative net worth. And nearly two-fifths of us don't have the cash on hand to cover a $400 emergency, according to the Federal Reserve.
My wife and I have roughly a -$100K net worth, placing us in the bottom 1% of American households last I looked.
We also make right around the top 1% for income in our state.
Are we good people or bad people? I can't figure it out. I'm thinking bad because we are responsible enough to keep $400 on hand for emergencies and could both not work for around 90 days and foot all our bills because we live on considerably less than we make. But we will also never be billionaires.
Could someone please break down for me how I should think of myself? I'm thinking I should hate me, but I don't know if growing up poor in the country makes me disadvantaged and loveable or is disqualified because I'm a dude. Is there some sort of chart CNN has to let me know if I'm good or bad?
