Thank God for that. We'd be double screwed if that wasn't the case.

It surely isn't gaslighting people into thinking inflation is good for them.
I mean sure, but I hear a lot of whining about it, snickering at the spin, and even some pre-emptive victory laps about how thermostatic voters will hopefully punish Democrats for inflation, but what I haven't heard much of is what supposed solution conservatives have on offer to fix things? And what backs up their claims, if any?
I mean take the UK. Conservatives have gotten everything they want recently: Super majorities, Brexit, and in control of the economic levers of the country. How has that faired? They have higher inflation currently than America.

Not threaten to shut down “fossil fuels” while simultaneously begging OPEC to drill more?

leftists out there lock-step claiming price gouging by corporations is the culprit behind inflation.
Labor costs up
material costs up
Freight up
Utilities up
rent up
interest up
taxes up
fuel up
office supplies up
and so on...
These dipshits really just think companies should eat all these costs to maintain a selling price, even if it means losing money.

Gosh, where have we heard this excuse before.
Oh yeah, I remember.
"Yeah, we lied about Obamacare and what would happen. We knew it would screw everyone over, but that's what we do. Now, what is the plan to fix our latest frick up?"

Anyone have the clip of Raggedy Ann being dumbfounded when asked if she thought companies would pass on their added costs to consumer?

So the plan is to say nice things to fossil fuel companies, ok
Not sure that is going to stop OPEC from artificially constraining the market or fix the Russia/Ukraine war. All of which is only one aspect of this whole thing. We still have run away food prices, droughts, global supply chain constraints, housing shortages, China shutting down everything the moment they find one covid case, the chip manufacturing shortage, labor shortages in key industries domestically and internationally etc.

You know what didn't help?
Mandatory shut downs and social distancing at day cares and schools in places like Michigan and Illinois.
Every manufacturer or distributor (of which there are a shite load of) in those states had major issues keeping a full staff throughout 2020 and 2021. Every time their kid is in the room with someone that tested positive, they had to go home for a mandatory 14 days - which means their working parents had to take time off.
A lot of companies were almost never working with a full staff for those 2 years. Which means parts shortage, driver shortages, labor shortages, and supply chain frick ups. Which contributes to a shortage of supply of consumer goods. Which contributes to higher consumer prices.
Then we had some jerks in Washington openly fight the oil and gas industry from day one. This should be our moment to profit from turmoil in Europe - but we can barely supply energy to ourselves right now. Another missed opportunity and another example when stupid policy leads to pain among consumers and taxpayers.

So the conservative solution to stop global inflation is to promote more oil production in the world's leading oil producing country?

You don't think the price of energy is driving prices up across the world?

What’s your leftist solution? You keep asking for a conservative solution. Why not offer one from your perspective?

I'm still trying to get from how being publicly nicer to domestic oil companies solves inflation for America though?

He is doing a great job on that front. Latest rumors around my firm are that we are looking at 250% of target for bonuses.
