People like you are the reason people don't like vets, just to let you know. You feel entitled to not comply with someone trying to do something nice for you because of a choice you voluntarily made.

I'm not taking sides on this particular issue but in general, on principle, frick Lowes.

frick Lowes.

frick everything they stand for.

frick their business practices.

There's a reason you don't see real tradesman using Lowes. I used to keep a running list in my head of all the reasons Lowe's is a terrible place. The list got so long that it became unmanageable.

Why were you in uniform to begin with?

You get dressed up to go into Chick-fil-A so you can get a free chicken sandwich? See I do this and never fought for this country. Got the uniform at a garage sale. It’s payed for itself.

I would think that you’d be happy that Lowe’s is trying to prevent these stolen valor jackasses from getting the same benefits that are available to you.

I didn’t rise to the rank of sniper on seal team 6 so someone could steal my Lowe’s discount!

I think you underestimate the amount of people who abuse military discounts. In areas around bases, it is unreal. Results in millions of dollars in losses per year.
Almost every corporate retailer has the same policy. Follow the simple rules or shop somewhere else.

No one owes you anything, play by the rules and get the discount, it’s that simple.

While I agree I think this poster just might not know the kind of crap businesses put up with when trying to offer something to active or retired military. Our first year giving them free meals on Veteran's day was a mess. One of our General Manager's, who is a vet himself, went on a tirade about how embarrassed he was to be a vet on facebook. There are plenty of vets who refuse to take any type of discount because they know of the people within their subculture and how they can be. I just always ask them to educate themselves on the offer and make a choice to take advantage of it or not.

I always found it a bit odd when I worked in service industry type jobs, the old vets that aggressively went out of their ways looking for a discount or would get upset at workers who had no control over policy

That first Veteran's Day I was just referring, I got off of work and walked over to Outback because I was just drained. They were offering a free blooming onion. This vet was causing a big scene because he was supposed to get a free steak and lobster.

To that ask... you need to realize that some in uniform put in more days than others. If something needs to get fixed, I'm not going to change out of uniform just to change back before going to work.

And piss off to the rest. Am I entitled.. frick no, I never said that. I'm not complaining about there policy, I get it... but sometimes it's just a head scratcher.

I swear people on this board have a fricking reading comprehension issue.

Read what people are writing word for word before you decide to respond.
