Are you referring to the the police officers as being the issue? That's the thread title.

Kaepernick decided to not stand for the anthem. He has that right. He started something, a movement if you will.

Although he considered his actions to be for issues he thinks important he brought attention on himself.

Many, maybe most people believe his actions to be wrong. They have that right and have no reason to be concerned about why people are disrespecting that what represents our nation.

He saw this happening and continued to allow HIM to become the issue.

This being the case the issue at hand is what others think about his actions.

So the players have their rights and the cops have their rights to protest the protesters.

"the issue at hand" is whatever is the most important to each of us. (I served in the military and was paid less than $200/mo. I didn't volunteer either. The gov't forced me into that. Meanwhile all he has ever done is played a game. Mere entertainment and yet has been compensated millions. He won't stand for the anthem. You want to guess what he made the issue to be to me? BTW, I served with many black people that complained no more than I did. They never knelt!!!)

Example: The issue at hand for me is this spoiled jock raised in a white privileged home that has made millions off of the back of working men and women, black, white, green, etc. from all walks of life only recently for no identifiable reason (other than a new ... woman) decided to make a statement in a manner not acceptable to many/most people. He continued to do so and others joined in without ever making their specific gripes known in a manner that the average Joe would see or hear. Now they are the issue, they know it, they are accomplishing no good deeds but they continue to do so, play a game that rewards them millions of dollars that come from the very people that ARE AMERICA.

Protesting the federal government, our freedom, the flag, etc. doesn't seem the appropriate response.

Those protesting are protesting the symbol of the entity that guarantees them the equality and rights that they desperately want.

It is crazy to me that so many liberals are unable to recognize the misapplication of the protest.
