It appears you don't know a lot about these cars. I would suggest you, and anyone else looking to buy a classic car, to do a quick search for a forum dedicated to those cars.

Any questions you may have are likely to have been covered there already and it's quite likely someone there knows the car you are looking at.
Also, there is a Shelby registry that has all the VIN's for the Shelby cars.

Yep,only modern era cars have 4speed automatics. I think the K code is the hi perf engine for 65&66 289 Mustangs, although Shelby might be a different animal. As I became older and wiser, I ditched Dorf and am now a GM A body aficionado.
Eta,at that price it's probably a clone. Find a Mustang forum and ask the experts before you drop 30k.

Nobody sells an authentic Shelby for $30k unless they are on some bad dope and need cash in a hurry. Get the VIN and check it out before you even go look.

Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth/Mopar had push button transmissions in the 60's. Kind of unusual.

The GT350s were all Fastbacks so what you are looking at is a 66 Coupe that looks like a GT350.
You can't buy a completely rusted hulk for $30k if it has matching VINs and a block and manifolds.

100% any coupe is just a wannabe. They have value as a driver and could be worth $30k depending on what has been done to it and how recent.
