That was the stupid father. The son is the one who pretty much built the bridge. But if you weren't such a dolt you would have known that. I would suggest you read, the Great Bridge by David McCallum. I'll apologize in advance for there being very few pictures.

That's cute. I think a 10 year old could design a bridge
I think that your thinking skills are a little frickidy.

Washington Roebling, who actually built the bridge with his wife who also basically managed the construction, did not die of tetanus. He did suffer terribly from the Bends from visiting the pressurized caissons too often, however.

idk who that was, but i looked him up and he infact does have his MS...and has PHD, and his PE. Looks like he actually worked in the engineering field for 4 years. I wish this was required more for Engineering Professors. There is only so much Theory you can learn and realized it isnt like this in that real world.

Hell If i was over the program i would require some CM courses, and create a general construction course. Too many green engineer, and hell experienced engineers are lost on constitutionality.

we were talking about bridge design.....which was his father.

well the bends happened because he came up to quick. They didnt know about safety stops back then.

90 degree curve
i see you didnt get an A in math.

What the frick are you talking about? Here, let me help you, dipshit.
"The degree of curvature is defined as the central angle to the ends of an arc or chord of agreed length."
An "arc" is a curve. Angles are measured in "degrees". Hence, "90 degree curve".

No senior design project is "easy" if you have to do all the work of the entire group because you're stuck with morons.
Much to the contrary, mine was 100x easier when I did all of the work myself. They just slowed progress by being incompetent, not completing tasks, and interjecting themselves into the design process. Too many cooks in the kitchen that didn't know how to cook

go with the bridge. it will be straightforward and way easier than a hydraulic system.

oohh feisty one.
quote:

"The degree of curvature is defined as the central angle to the ends of an arc or chord of agreed length."
i see you can quote from wikipedia.
quote:

An "arc" is a curve
and arc is not a curve.
quote:

Angles are measured in "degrees"
angles can be measured in radians or degrees. and when you are talking about horizontal curvature of roadways/bridges, you dont say "90 degree curve". So i agree with my original statement.

For horizontal curvature it is labled with a PI, PT, and PC. from there you can calculate you radius and length of curve.

Since we are diving into semantics the horizontal curves you are speaking to look to have a EB degree of curvature less than 90 degrees in the 60 range and the WB would be in the 95 degree range.

So back to the topic on hand.

You said it's easier when you have good people in your group. I said it was easier by myself
