I agree completely. Honestly, the handful of us in this thread could legitimately have a 4-5 hour roundtable discussion in person on this and get nowhere. I spent nearly that much time today going around and around on what is actually different between being transracial or transgendered. Add in that we've discussed schizophrenia and other things in this thread, and we could probably make a year long podcast about all of this.
I think we can all agree that it's very likely that this perpetrator was mentally ill. Does that mean he's excused? Not at all. But it should spark a conversation about preventing future tragedies.
And if he isn't mentally ill, then he's essentially the embodiment of evil, and we have very little discuss.

My God. I'm retracting my previous statement about him being mentally ill based on that report, if it's true.
He was just evil, planned this very well, and did it in the coldest of blood. God, that made my stomach turn over.

Well, until we get more information, there isn't a whole lot to discuss. The amount of planning this guy seems to have done is... Disconcerting.

I'm opposed to the death penalty, and abortion, so I can't agree, but I'd happily see him spend his life in prison.

Possible. Wednesday services usually have a smaller crowd in general, which means less chance of being stopped/apprehended. May not have been wanting to have a "one and done" scenario.

I feel pretty positive based on the way he did this that he's planning on another attack of some kind. Him telling her that at the end sounds like a kind of warning.
