Christmas Gift Preference: Things or Experiences?

Would you rather receive things as a gift or experiences (vacation, concert/sports tickets, etc)? Assuming the value is relatively equal, of course.
Personally, I'd rather get a trip or something like that over stuff.

I am generally very particular about experiences and like to pick/line them up myself...I'd rather tangible things, as I don't always buy things even when I need them.

I hate Christmas gifts.
I mostly get clothes I have intention of wearing. The real "toys" I would want are too expensive for anyone to buy.
I'd much rather we all pitch in for a place at the beach or the mountains.
