That explains it. You're far removed from the reality of life for the very average person.

Would you take an annual salary of 60k after tax to help support poor people? Three percent raise the rest of your life. The rest siphoned off to help poor families.

Would you do this?

What do you do for a living? I'm guessing restaurant work. Your life is fraught with jealousy.

Roger you did admin work for a port and the DOL, why are you trying to act like you are above others work?

That's not the only way to make things better for society as a whole

Violent crime rate is significantly lower than New Orleans, Memphis, Jackson, Baton Rouge, St Louis, etc. It's slightly worse than Houston though.

Throw Birmingham in there, too. They are leading the way this year.

Moral of the story is: maybe consider not living in any larger city.

I work with a libtard that is all about raising the minimum wage and he will argue until he's blue in the face that raising minimum wage won't increase the product costs of those companies to consumers.

That, in a nutshell, shows you how your typical liberal voter views the world.

I mean, if I was single and younger, I'd live downtown Chicago in a heartbeat

That was a marriage, 2 kids and 15 years ago though, so it's the burb life for me

What’s the % increase? Pretty high, no?

Linearly, he may be correct depending on what that wage is

Youre a 22 year old 5' tall testosterone bereft dwarf, still living off your parents while doing taxes. I'm not sure you have any high road here.

Last year was under quarantine, I wouldn't use that as an argument

Regardless, you're debating with someone who actually lives in Chicagoland, so I can see it with my own eyes.

Most progs are willing to vouch for poor people, but unwilling to make unilateral adjustments to help them.

They just want YOU to suffer.

Do you think all attorneys are on billboards or something?

And to answer your hypothetical, yes.

It's 4 cents for each dollar you spend there. If $10.40 versus $10 means hardship for you then you shouldn't have been eating there in the first place.

You said you lived in the suburbs though

Idk I see the facts, murder numbers are even higher at this point than they were last year

Crime is very high right now all over compared to 2019, and to 2020

I mean, who didn’t expect this?

Liberals thought they would just eat those wage increases?

I never said such a thing.

I said that a 4% increase in price doesn't mean there was a 4% increase in the cost of labor.

If labor increases by 10% as a whole and price increases 4% then workers are in a better place than they were before.
