Much more clued in than you will ever be....

No shite BYD EV's are flooding foreign markets, they are cheap, but if you actually ever looked at one in-person you'd also know they are junk and more dangerous to those driving them than anything else. They aren't innovative, they have nothing on Western or Japanese developed EV's, BYD routinely puts out outrageously erroneous claims about their in-house tech, to the point you'd have to believe the Chinese not only have developed but are mass-producing high-temperature super-conducting materials. Talking about a country that can't even manufacturer it's own high precision CNC cells or last generation chip fabrication technology....

I work in the trucking industry and it takes 6 hours for loved to change a set of batteries on a standard rig. Anything more electrical and your towed to the shop. It can take trucks up to an hour to just get fuel at a standard stop now. Where are all these electric truck mechanics being trained? Is every truck stop going to have nuclear power generation system? Sharif Muhammad don’t understand how to use toilet paper or not shite on the fuel island. Yet he’s expected to be able to get keep a electric truck running?

Electric trucks will likely require less maintenance in the long run, and be more simple to use. They'll also be autonomous at some point.

Right now they cost more to insure, the investments in charging infrastructure and specific maintenance-related costs upfront are basically washing out day-to-day operating savings. Once again, without government intervention (at gun point in China) there would be little incentive for these vehicles.

May be true.
If they are cheap and function, people will continue to buy them
If they are garbage, it should work itself out

Crash Protection and Ratings
• Five-Star Scores: Almost all mainstream BYD and Tesla models earn top five-star safety ratings from official crash-test groups like Euro NCAP and ANCAP.
• Adult Protection: Both brands score similarly high marks (87% to 91%) for keeping adult passengers safe during impacts.
• Child Safety: BYD models often match or exceed Tesla in child occupant protection, with vehicles like the Sealion 7 scoring top-tier marks.

Battery Safety
• Thermal Stability: BYD uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) "Blade Batteries", which resist overheating and fires better than standard nickel-based battery chemistry.
(like Tesla uses)

But hey, you looked at one in person, so I guess this is all BS

If true, 21$ instead of 101$ is too substantial to ignore. I know Tesla is starting to crank out electric big rigs

The real knock on BYD and pretty much every EV OEM except Tesla at this point is infantile battery management programs. I expect they'll deal with accelerated degradation.
