Frank's Roller Rink...Confetti's in Elmwood...the Convent out by the lake...Obermeyer's next door to the Pair-a-dice lounge...hot and heavy at the Bonnabel boat launch and Lafreniere Park. Good times.

That was the Water Maze and they also had Greased Lightning water slide too. They added a electronic bull to that one. Goony Golf was the shite with the dinosaurs and go carts.

Damn straight. I still want to know who thought it was a good idea to let kids jump on wet trampolines, especially from trampoline to trampoline. Saw many mangled limbs at that place.

there was also a skate board park, but I think it may have been on West Napoleon
I think the skate park was on W. Esplanade just before Severn. There is a Power Station there now.

In 1984, your folks were loaded if you could afford your own trampoline. I do remember it was a goddamn free-for-all though.
How the hell did I forget - bowling at Pelican Lanes.

Anyone remember these:
1. Big go kart track on veterans where the Lexus dealership is now.
2. Amusement park in Elmwood.

Anybody remember the Shell Pile behind the levee at the end of Lake Villa Dr.?
It was Metairie's Monkey Hill.

Paradise Lanes wasn't it?
Paradise Lanes was by Schweggman's , Pelican Lanes was on Vets next to the 17th St canal where the high rise office building is now.

One of my neighbors busted his arse riding his bike down the shell piles. The poor kid was shredded from head to toe with about 500 clam shell cuts.

Being a harahan hawk in the late 90s taught me to be the successful loser that I am today.

Oh gotcha, yea Paradise was where Barnes & Noble is now (still have Paradise Café inside B&N which is owned by the family that had the bowling alley).

They had a Playboy pinball machine at Paradise. I was in very serious lust with Patty McGuire around that time.

West Banker here, but went to school in New Orleans, and all my friends were from Metairie. We also came across the river, regularly, so I remember most of these places. Friday nights, after football or basketball, we'd hit up:
Shakey's
Fireside Inn
Peppe-Roni's Pizza (West Esplanade and Transcontinental)
Luther's Barbecue
Pied Piper Pizza (we had one family of four kids at our school, every single one worked there.)
Tower of Pizza
The tables in Paradise Café are made from pieces of the bowling lanes. It's a great idea.
