She looks pretty fricking distraught, like genuinely. The child was 11. If this was some accident, she shouldn't be charged with homicide, it appears by her face her sentence was already handed out.

If she left the kid alone to go buy milk would she still be negligent?
Both acts would have the same relationship to the death unless there is something else going on here, like she set the fire or knew of some dangerous condition when she left the boy alone.
