An 11 year old, in a normal safe house, can be left alone to sleep while the parent goes next door. I don’t know if it matters that she was doing meth. If she was drinking next door would you still want her charged?

Yes.

Meth heads don’t care about anything but meth.

She looks pretty fricking distraught, like genuinely. The child was 11. If this was some accident, she shouldn't be charged with homicide, it appears by her face her sentence was already handed out.

She left her kid behind to go do drugs. How much more negligent do you have to be?

If she left the kid alone to go buy milk would she still be negligent?

Both acts would have the same relationship to the death unless there is something else going on here, like she set the fire or knew of some dangerous condition when she left the boy alone.

I don’t think that charge is going to stick.
