I mean its pretty easy for someone like you having all of the information now to armchair quarterback it.
Little different if you're the guy chasing someone with a gun thru the dark at 2:30 AM when a split second decision is the difference in you dying or not.
Where did I say the cop was wrong for shooting him?
I’m sure he was legitimately scared for his life. I understand the kid had a fun and was running. I realize who created this problem.
I think the cop was legitimately scared while simultaneously thinking the orders were going to lead to gunshots.

If slackster was a cop he’d be shot a killed within the first week on the job in Chicago. He wants the gun carrying criminals to fill out a multiple choice test before a cop decides to protect themselves.

In other words, pride is content to argue this until the end of time if it just buys him a few moments peace.

In laws are only here periodically. They have a beach place as well

I got downvoted to hell to start the thread, then to turn the tide and have some tier 1 posters come and admit they were wrong to me

Damn dude you are trying hard.
The kid didn’t give a frick about what the cop was saying. He stopped because he thought he had a good place to dump the gun and act like he was innocent.
He wasn’t trying to follow instructions otherwise he would have never run to begin with
Let this be a lesson for criminals and cops. Criminals probably aren’t going to listen, but cops in a chase shouldn’t tell someone to stop and show you their hands. Tell them to stop and get on the ground or something else. I get it’s the heat of the moment, I really do, and I don’t blame the cop really, but that shite was going to end poorly the moment the kid stopped with a gun and those instructions. It’s that simple.

But truly Both sets of parents came from nothing, worked their balls off and are finally getting to enjoy life a bit late in life. Hope they all live long enough to truly enjoy their spoils
Truly the example of what we call the American dream

The cop didn’t say turn around with the gun
You are acting like a non Neanderthal would think these are synonyms

Y’all act like the business of crime should be risk free
Stop trying to pretend like there is a sure fire way to achieve zero risk for criminals. Everyone knows the risks, I’m sure even this kid knew the risks of committing crimes with a gun

A) I’m far too intelligent to be a cop.
B) “A” is responsible for like 95% of the problems that are attributable to cops. I wholly understand most of the problems are the fault of criminals. I get that, but whatever amount is the fault of cops, 95% is due to a lack of intelligence.

What’s funny about what I said? Even in good shoots you can learn how to be better.

You think your ability to do well on a standardized test is going to help you when the perp turns around with a gun in a dark alley way in a split second?
You are dumber than you think

During my reading about all of this, I learned that there were over 700 murders and over 4,000 shooting victims in Chicago last year.
That is crazy.
Based on that, why are we surprised that local police are a little quick on the trigger finger?

genuinely curious, shouldnt the cop have ordered the kid to get on the ground instead of just yelling "stop"
You would think they want to make it clear on no movements until directed (and only as directed), but getting on the ground as told didn’t help the pest control guy in Arizona. Calling cops about possible crime happening to a neighbor didn’t help the Australian lady in Minnesota.
Being 13 has to have played a part in reaction. I have zero cares about the parents or family raising this kid unless they had already reported him missing, out looking for him before, and had been truly trying to turn him around and this was a one time slip up, because the kid was 13 and running around with a gun at 2:30am. Whoever was raising him needs to be charged with something.

It’s funny because the next video where someone gets shot for doing something sketchy on the ground you will say “why didn’t the cop tell him to show his hands!”
