What is that black thing riding up the passenger side of the windshield?

This is the ZR2 pickup on which the Bison is based. The ZR2 went on sale last year as an off road package with locking front and rear diffs for the Colorado pickup.

That's an intake snorkel. It's there so the engine will still run if the truck is submerged.

Air intake snorkel needs to be higher. I like to mud ride deeper than the roof line

Linex is the best on deer camp trucks to get through brush.

But it looks fun if you can afford it.

$50k for an undersized truck that won't have the lifespan of a Tacoma. Truck prices are seriously out of control.

Maybe this will drive the price of the TDR pros down. Not going to lie, getting a factory warranty on a trail worthy rig is a plus.

Seems like only posers would buy this and never even take it off-road
Give me a Tacoma any day of the week

Or for around $15k, I can build a similar rig:

It’s has a snorkel, but are all the 100’s of electrical components water submersible?
Posted on 4/12/18 at 12:12 pm to UpToPar
I read about this rig. Looks pretty bad arse, and it would be cool to have all of those features under a warranty.

Optional upgrades includes an AEV snorkel

A snorkel, really. Like that truck would be ok driving in 3 feet if water.
I am sure all the electronics would be fine under water. As well as the seats and carpet and air-conditioner controls, stereo, speakers and blower motor...

Colorado is too small for my needs.
it feels much bigger than the other vehicles in its class. Yes, a 1500 version would be really neat

Good to have because this truck will be way underwater until 84 months pass
