New France should probably stretch from Galveston to Mobile, and be called something else. I've seen better "Alt-Maps" which called it the Gulf South.

The Spanish flag flew over Louisiana and Mobile, AL back in the day. There’s a significant Spanish influence in these parts.

I agree that for Louisiana history there was greater Spanish influence than French influence but that influence was from Spain not Mexico. Texas is currently very similar to Mexico any many ways such as culture, inhabitants, food, language, etc.. while Louisiana is not.

There was something at one time called West Florida and the parishes on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain are still sometimes called the Florida Parishes, but I don't think that went all the way to Galveston.
