Many that I have seen and heard do not see the opposing view as a different opinion or of having any merit. Any viewpoint or challenge to their worldview is hate speech and literal fascism. If you challenge the viewpoint of a growing contingent of one side of the aisle then you are no longer seen as human. Your view and opinion if different than what they have dreamt as the perfect utopian and therefore only possible way for the world to be makes you a horrible person worthy of whatever comes your way as they push forward with their vision.

In Germany in the 1930's the party did not go out and say we are the bad guys, nor did their opponents say these people are bad. No, that party saw themselves as pure, good and pushing a utopian view that was the only way to proceed. Anyone who stood against their view or had a different opinion was not even human and to be demonized and crushed.

Silencing the opposition. Dehumanizing the other side. Only using negative adjectives to describe those different than you. That is fascism. That is the 'Nazis'. That is the side that will be on the wrong side of history when our grandchildren read their textbooks.

Maybe this will get them to move on from the constant political storylines this season that are stale and not particularly funny when repeated over and over and over
