Unfortunately social media amplifies the insane hateful ramblings of mentally ill losers. This happens on both sides, but the skew toward extreme-left content and away from center-left or centrist content is especially stark: pic in tweet.

Social media is basically a perpetual gaslighting machine that keeps a small segment of mentally ill freaks on both ends of the spectrum constantly outraged and wound up. The vast majority of Democrats don’t want violence like this and are horrified by it, and even the vast majority of those making snarky comments are just being dickhead trolls and don’t actually condone it either.

Obviously there are some disgusting lunatics on the left cheering this murder, and they deserve every bit of scorn they’re getting for it. I’d just encourage y’all to recognize that the vast majority of us don’t want to live in a world like they want, either.

MSNBC didn’t “have” to fire anyone. They chose to fire someone for running his mouth like an idiot. How is that proof of them endorsing his belief?

A CNN reporter making a stupid guess about why Kirk was shot =/= endorsing it either.

And yes, on global platforms of >1B people, there are “thousands” of people celebrating it, that’s true. They’re greatly outnumbered by people who condemn it, whether or not they go out of their way to say it. Outrage-driving engagement algorithms selectively amplify the reach of the scumbag losers celebrating it and make them appear far more common than they are. Pointing these facts out isn’t “downplaying” anything. They exist, they’re a problem, and they also thrive off the misconception that they’re more common and more representative than they are.

You said virtually every prominent dem condemned it and I sowed multiple that didn’t just from the mainstream media. Hell, there was a guy jumping for joy right in front of Charlie when he got shot. Many others, instead of condemning it, used it as a platform to say “yea well the right does it too”.

Your party has gone insane and you’re here trying to save face for them. Just stop trying to kill conservatives, please.

Not to mention that abomination of a speech Pritzger gave.

It's one of the few times in my life I am at an absolute loss. Did I agree with Kirk on everything, no. I appreciated his shorts and some of his long form content. I don't even really have rage at the people making these comments, more just a deep sadness at the de-evolution of it all. I will continue to find volunteer opportunities, create a family and raise the correctly, and try to put good out in the world, but I'd be lying if I said this doesn't feel like some sort of milestone.
