I started using lump when I had a BGE. When I moved I left it at my parents house. I do still use lump charcoal even in my cheapo grill and it works great.

If you buy a 10$ chimney starter you can have charcole hot in 7 minutes.
It makes charcoal a no brainer.

I can "smoke" a Boston Butt on a gas grill that's as good as any cooked on a smoker.
Slow and low.
One burner on as low as it will go, Butt (covered in dry rub and fat side up) on the highest rack (bread rack or whatever it's called), opposite side of the burner that's on.
About an hour per pound, or until when you grab the bone with tongs it slides out of the meat. Twss.
I do soak wood chips in water, wrap in foil, poke holes in foil and sit it above the burner that's lit to get smoke rolling.
It doesn't use as much gas as you would think, but I usu make sure the tank is full before starting because I don't want to be 5-6 hours into an 8-10# butt and run out of fuel. Even if tank is only half full you should still be good to go.
Easy peasy

No you can't, there is a reason that NO ONE even tries this in a commercial setting, it is not possible.

Post all the gifs you like, while your family may tell you this to make you feel better about yourself throwing a few chips in a gas grill will never produce the same effect as an actual wood based fuel burning.
No one other than an idiot would even make this claim.
What tired gif can I expect next?

Yeah caveman is actually right here. What you're saying is stupid. I'm not saying that you're stupid, but it's definitely a possibility because you say stupid things in the internet.
