Would St. George residents still have to pay for 38 libraries on the property tax?

The main reason I’m for it is to get a good bit closer to a divided city/parish government. If St George happens I think we can get a parish president that might slow down some of this ridiculous parish spending.

I would like to think that, but the current Mayor-President is elected on a parish-wide vote, so I don't know that there's any indication that a stand-alone EBR parish government would be any more fiscally conservative that what we've got now. If deconsolidation did happen, the current Mayor-President/Metro Council set up would essentially become the parish government and you would add presumably an even more left-leaning BR mayor and city council to preside over the BR city limits.

EBR parish is getting really concerned because they are 19 Million in the hole for the school budget. They can only drain the rainy day fund so much.

So many people getting a piece of the pie to sit in an office and make decisions instead of spending time in the classroom.

Thus completing the Jacksonization of Baton Rouge.

No better time to start than today. Maybe cut the CoA first and CATS.
