Ceiling fan question (Repair Board)

Pulled little chain that hangs from the center of ceiling fan to turn on the lights. The chain came out. How do you fix it? Thanks

Probably need to go to lowes and get a new switch. It unscrews from the fan housing.
cut the wires and splice the new one in.
Black to black white to white either wire nut or electrical tape on the connections

You need to know if it's a 2,3, or 4 fan speed.

The switches are not all the same. You can make a 4 pull switch work on a fan wired for 2 or 3 but you'll have a click or two that does nothing.
