You've asked the wrong bunch of retards.
Most here are prob underage or just barley legal.
Advice on grown up issues isn't there strongpoint.
Which one would you hit, I'm so hungover, how drunk have you ever been... That's more their speed.
To answer your question though, kids are going to be kids.
I'd talk about consequences of bad choices and desicions.... Not just on a parental level but life level and how this could permanently effect them.

Wait a minute, so this guy who is complaining about his son drinking at 15 is a drug addict/alcoholic?
Posted on 8/13/14 at 7:35 am to lsucoonass
Charlie does methadone, coke, heroin, pcp, the works.

3 things I will never ask the OT:
1) Parenting advice
2) Legal advice
3) Medical advice

If he/she is 15 then that means he's in high school unless he failed (which would mean he's irresponsible so shouldnt be given the privilege to drink). If someone is in high school, you dont think they should be allowed to drink a damn beer?

I'm not reading this thread, but I thought Charlie Angst was about 15 years old from all his other dumb post and threads.

You don't think he has already spoken to him? I am sure he lost it because he has spoken to him many times and his kid went off and did this. Its good to freak out, without any violence, and then once things calm down you have ANOTHER serious talk. I figured I would share since you seem to like giving parenting advice!
The thing is, all of that is irrelevant. No one should freak out about a 15 year old drinking. Period.

You only have one option here. Your kid thinks he is cool because he's drinking and he thinks you're a huge pussy (because you are). You need to reestablish the pecking order and this is how you do it. Go to the gas station and buy two cases of beer and then have a good old fashioned case race, except you have a dark horse that he's never seen before; the shotgun. So hopefully you shotgun 18 beers before your son can and he'll feel like a huge pussy and will never want to drink again.

I don't agree.
It is illegal. And the only time would be with your parents.
Am I the only one who didn't drink in high school?

He never smoked again.

If there is one thing we can actually learn from this thread.

I didn't drink to get drunk.
I had a few beers.
Oh, and it's not hypocritical for a parent to be mad if they did the same things. They may have wanted to raise them differently.

Drinking before the age of 21 can hinder brain development (and the brain doesn't stop developing until 25). People are dumb enough as it is. No need to make it worse.
