Any of you Lafayette area people think Carencro is the next Youngsville/Broussard? All that development off of 49 is nice but I feel like it’s coming way too fast and before long it’ll be just another sprawl. It’s still located off an interstate so that’s a major plus that Youngsville doesn’t have.

Carencro is too close to Northside Lafayette for my taste.

Sunset and Grand Coteau are the next to really blossom economically in Acadiana.

Grand Coteau is a nice little town.

Dated a Sacred Heart girl for a bit. Family was loaded.

Anyone know the backstory on George Jones living there back in the 80’s?

Didn't Salma Hayek go there for a year or something?

Some acquaintances sent their daughter to boarding school there when she had trouble keeping her pants on around the football team.

Probably. The Youngsville/Broussard area traffic is kind of crazy these days. I'd choose Carencro over that area if I had to pick.

the same mental retardation that has produced the traffic cluster frick that is BR seems to be infecting the Youngsville/Broussard planners/developers.

And unless there is an area of the Cro that I haven't seen, Id still go with YV/Broussard.

What is in Grand Coteau Sunset that’s going to blossom? It is a nice area I agree on that.

I can’t stand the Youngsville area for more than the traffic. It floods very easily because it’s all surrounded by cane fields and there’s no major bayou or river for it all to go to. At least in “upper Lafayette” and St Landry you’ve got slight rolling hills and trees.

I understand he was married to a Broussard for a time, that's all I got.

Yep He lived across the street from my Aunt. I use to cut his grass when I was young during the summers. Super cool guy. Someone stole his satellite dish out of his yard then he moved shortly after that
