You can get him an Altima for very cheap but before you know it he'll be driving slow in the left lane and throwing trash out the windows.

Buy something reliable even if more expensive. The headache alone isn’t worth it if you buy a beater and have to keep dumping cash into it
Buy them a beater you spend a couple grand to get em through HS and probably have to get em another to get thru college if they have any highway miles to drive safely. Buy once, cry once (within reason), I am doing it for the second time in a couple months. Been looking for a bit, seems used truck prices are falling pretty quickly. I have decided to hold off till December.

Where are you located. I have a 2010 Toyota FJ Cruiser with 153K sitting under my carport. I bought for my son when he was 16 years old and he drove it up until 3 months ago when i gave him my Jeep. I am in BR.

Buy him a single cab truck. That way he can’t be hauling all his buddies all over town.

We got a 2007 Ford Ranger for $14,000. It's a great little truck.

Boy needs a pickup. Find an older Tacoma, F150, or Chevy/GM pickup. They are relatively safe in a wreck. Won't be great on gas, but good enough.

Great looking and driving cars.
My brother had one though and it broke down a lot.
I suggest the Mustang because it's pretty easy to work on.
Parts are cheap and easy to find too.

Daughter is presently driving a 2010 Accord w/ 178k miles, which had been her brother's and then mine (new) before that. You can probably find one for a song and they're just about bulletproof.

If he's like most boys he's gonna crack the first car up. Why spend 10G?

I'd look for half the price and twice the miles.

My daughter turned 16 in July. We got her a 2024 Hyundai Elantra. I highly recommend.

1. Price in in the low $20K range
2. 100K/10 yr powertrain warranty
3. Diver assist (great for new drivers)
4. Backup camera
5. Wireless Apple CarPlay (no need to touch their phone while driving)

I want to get my daughter a single cab truck that way she can't fit too many other kids in it. They still make any single cabs?

Yeah, Subarus are lesbian cars right!! Just like the one I posted. No way this car would be cool on a college campus right? Man, ya'll live in a box.
