You guys and this shite again. Do you think Morgan City Savings Loan and Feed Store uses some magical in house developed clearance process? No, they use the same top 5 or 10 third parties that everyone else uses.
Exactly.

Last warning to everyone, use local or regional banks or credit unions.
They use third party vendors too. Nobody processes completely in house any more.

That's not the point.
And it's not just me: everybody's direct deposit is being held.
You think that a company should proceed with a holiday when their customers are being fricked over because of their "technical issues"?

Card works fine, but mortgage and other bills have not been withdrawn yet. I also transferred money days ago and still haven’t received it but it shows as complete on the other end.

a couple days is devastating to most of the country

I guess my what I am trying to push to everyone is that with the local or regionals banks/cus you will either know the people working in them or be able to talk to a human being from your direct area to resolve problems.

Smells like b.s.. Down for a few hours at most would make sense. But this has been a problem starting Wednesday evening beginning in the small business end when it went down. Nothing . You could not see balances and you could not do transfers. It migrated that evening to personal checking and the direct deposits.
I had 2 employees come to me yesterday after 4 pm wondering where their direct deposits were as theybank with Capital One. Probably have more this morning as I open in 15 minutes. As of this morning, nada and the money has not bounced back to our account and we don't use Cap 1.

They are all using the same backend systems; FIS, Fiserv, Global Payments, etc.
The big financial institutions simply have more robust and proprietary integrations into their services than the little guys.
It will be interesting to track the issue. I’ll go out on a limb and say it’s an attack.

Lol. Have you stepped foot inside one of their locations recently?
It feels like being inside a rental car center.
They don't even cash savings bonds anymore. The early 2000's was twenty years ago.

Citi had an issue on Tuesday as well. But they had it resolved by that night. This is not a power outage at a data center issue or else this would be solved by now. This is going on 48 hrs.

So y'all don't have any redundancy where y'all work? If a power outage happens your entire facility fails?

So, I got the messages, yet I do have some charges being cleared (at least some yesterday).
The language was worded fairly vaguely, but my gut feeling is that it was some sort of cyberattack/hack and firewall systems kicked in. They're running an audit to make sure the attackers didn't succeed.
I could be completely wrong, but that is my suspicion until confirmed or denied. The only other thing it I think could reasonably be is some new software implementation that was DOA.
Any other guesses?

Strap a tin foil hat on and get ready for a rough week and a bumpy 4 years. Trump and the American People shook the tree and pendulum hard the last 8 years. We’ll pull through, but sometimes to improve you have to tear down the system in place and rebuild it.

Who gives a frick whose frick up it is. Capital One or whomever is preventing millions from their paychecks on the eve of a 3 day weekend. If it's not settled by 230 today you are really going to see a lot of truly pissed off people.

Anyone think it could be a malware attack?
Never attribute to malice what can usually be chalked up to incompetence.
It's probably something stupid like a network change that disabled connectivity with the provider. Or DNS. It's always DNS.

It appears Ochsner has failed to pay employees today. Whoops

Best case scenario is a software roll out or hardware replacement didn’t go as smoothly as they hoped. Worst case is Capital One Bank itself was a victim of cyber terrorism. If it’s the later, I feel better with a billionaire businessman in charge of our government’s response than anyone else.

It’s not just Ochsner. It’s anyone who processes with Cap One. My company doesn’t process with them, but I do personally and my paycheck hasn’t been deposited yet.
A lot of people unfortunately in this country right now are hanging by a day to day cash flow problem and a couple
Days delay is going to break some things. If this isn’t solved today it’s going to cause a snowball rolling down a hill into an avalanche
