Doesn't matter...due to the impending trade war, there will be a 5000% tariff for Americans...

I wish it was legal everywhere.
Now, I have no issue with any business not allowing it due to work, but other than that, smoke away.

Good.
The USA should do the same thing and commute all sentences for marijuana possession as soon as possible.

Those useless fricks haven't even done that yet?

I don't understand why there's a double standard with pot. Do we let business' tell people they can't drink, even though that's shown to be far more dangerous than alcohol? Why can't what people do in their own time be their own business.

Yeah my company has already signed with a grower to distribute their product.
But damn if I piss hot here.

My friend, who loves his weed and is currently on medical disability due to cancer, tells me that medical marijuana will become legal in Louisiana this August.
Is this not true?
He will surely be bummed if it turns out that he has been misled.

Isn't it just CBD oil or some shite?

The goal is to produce a “plant that’s very low in THC and very high in CBD,” Richardson said.
That's no fun.

He hasn't been misled.
I just think that it should be legalized across the board. I don't want it taxed or monetized by the government at all. I just think that we should stop putting citizens in prison for growing or smoking a plant. And I don't even smoke it.

I agree it should be legalized, but the money earned from legalization in LA will be squandered. It may help some, but LA has bigger things it needs to fix if it wants to right a ship that has been off course for a long long time.

Depends on what he's been told. From what I've read they won't be setting up the type of dispensaries we used to have out here which were basically just recreational shops with a membership fee. It sounds like they're concentrating on a single low THC, high CBD product. Great news for people that benefit from it but underwhelming for most people.

There's a shop about a hundred yards from the cruise ship docks here. The State is about to be the first to allow onsite use as well

I used to think this way for Nola (outside of the bullshite rationale of using tax policy as the basis for legalizing behavior), but having gone to SF lately, think this should be approached with caution. The city was a nasty shithole even in the "nice" areas. Denver was much different when I went because it seems more under control, but SF was terrible and smelled like weed everywhere. I think they basically don't enforce any drug laws at all there because I saw bums shooting up in the open in broad daylight as well.
Eta: Also religion has little if anything to do with cannabis being illegal

San Francisco was full of weed smoke long before this year.

I too was in SF recently. Purchased from the apothecarium. I didn’t smell any more weed than I do in other bigger cities. Or than when I went 6 years ago.
The shithole part comes from homeless people and their literal shite.

I'm sure, but it was fairly ridiculous when I was there. I edited my post to mention the bum aspect as well. Just was a surprisingly depressing place to be overall so maybe I'm letting that cloud my view I guess.

I hear you. I just don't think legal marijuana is the cause considering Cali just went legal this year and the problems you mention are long standing.

That’s a stupid take for a few reasons.
A private business should be allowed to require whatever they want minus discrimination (as long as it doesn’t mess with other amendment rights).
Second, it’s not a good idea for a plant worker to be stoned while on site. Same with being drunk.
If the job has rules, you deal with them or don’t work there.
Other than that, do you on your private time
ETA: say you get high at home before you go to work, or have a shot.......a private business should 100% have a say in that.
Follow the rules or find a new job
