I've gotten a response for an item that I'm selling.
It's 7k bucks.

Guy wants my PayPal info so he can send me the money.
It's a motorcycle and he's not interested in coming to see it saying he doesn't have time and he'll have his mover come pick it up.

Really odd to me someone would PayPal seven grand for something they haven't even seen.
I've had little dealings with PayPal so I'm sort of Leary.
Dude lives 350 miles away.

YES. PayPal has buyer protection, and PayPal is very much known to side with buyers over sellers in disputes. Be careful of this guy trying to frick you over with the PayPal dispute system. You could very well end up, at least, with those funds frozen in your PayPal account for a long time before you can get them out.

Yes dipshit, it's a scam. You have access to the greatest wealth of knowledge in the history of mankind, the internet, and you still have to come here asking us rather than google searching?

He sends the cash, cycle is shipped, payment is reversed or he uses a fraudulent card, either way you aren't getting the money and will never see your motorcycle again.

Let me be frank, he is absolutely fricking scamming you, since others are on the fence or giving poor advice. PayPal will always side with whomever isn't you, there is no rhyme or reason other than scammers know what they are doing, and you don't. At 7k the bike isn't valuable enough for a search radius of 350 miles and him buying without seeing it. He's stealing your bike, point blank

Ask to speak to him on the phone. Only way you'll know.

Sounds fishy, but unless he is planning to demand a refund once he gets the motorcycle I don't see how it could be a scam.

Just make sure you wait until the money completely clears.

If he is planning to refund I'm pretty sure he won't be able to get away with it but I would talk to him just to avoid the hassle.

I am no expert on paypal, so I can't really address your original question. I can however, say that buying things like muscle cars or sports cars via the internet sight unseen is surprisingly common...so I assume the same would be the case with a motorcycle.

Just be damn sure your description and pictures are perfectly accurate.

If he can PayPal you 7k then he can bring you a certified check for 7k when he pick up the bike. Or he could also bring cash if you are comfortable with that.

Yeah he could send you the money and then charge it back once he gets the bike. From that point it would be a big pain in the arse to try to get the money back.

He's not picking up the bike. Movers are.

That is a huge red flag

Dont succumb to this shite. Complete scam. If it is too good to be true it is.
You already answered your own question when you asked who would buy a 7k bike unseen.

PayPal will cover that shite and freeze his accounts. Sounds like you're not very familiar with it.
