Schools, crime, jobs

I guess that's plausible. I liked living in Metairie, though, at least in the part right by the parish line.

It's a great area, seriously. New development, great public schools close to Nasa, rather affluent. Just make sure you're not in an area where Harvey flooded.

Had I known what I know now 4 years ago, I would have bought in Friendswood without even considering other areas.

I'd be really curious to hear in what respect League City, TX is better than Metairie

Pretty much every single measurement of quality of life. Better schools, jobs, housing, crime, income level

The only areas which are comparable and metairie might have a leg up is food and traffic. Traffic depends on where you work. Food depends on if we are going Nola vs htown or suburbs vs suburbs. Honestly in most cases it's a wash.

To be fair if you consider the following more important than the items I listed above, don't move

Offshore fishing for tuna and other blue water fish. Salt water is good in setx but offshore is not going to be as good

Hunting, it will take a lot longer from LC to go hunting

Saints and LSU, if your fall revolves around going to these and LSU baseball in the spring, you will regret it.

If festivals are extremely important to you, you will miss these.

If Catholic School education is important, LC lacks this at the HS level. But the public schools are as good as Nola Catholic Schools, but I know for me and my wife, this was a downfall despite the savings.

Many think uptown is the greatest place on Earth, personally I don't think it's anything special, but if you do love uptown you would have LC or any Houston suburb.
