with the road conditions? I've got meetings all day tomorrow in Houston and would really prefer not to cancel them.

Even if I could just get somewhere near the beltway that would be great. Not sure if I can make it though Beaumont, though.

Roads are fine now. Sun is out and it’s warmed up a good bit

Freeways in Houston are still pretty bad. If you come in then I would avoid the freeways and take the backroads/streets.

Houston is supposed to be above freezing by noon. I'd imagine if you left LC a bit later after that you should be good.

have you called the people you have meetings with to see if they are at work today? I know a lot of people are staying home again today.

I’m meeting with them tomorrow starting at 8 am. I’m not going to drive there tomorrow morning, I’d rather drive there tonight.

Was just on 610N/610S and I-10 east and west bound and they are fine. Only the overpasses still have melting ice but they are all drivable.

I know this wasn’t what you were asking but Houston > Lake Charles IMO

I drove from Katy to Willowbrook just now and the Beltway still has overpasses and bridges frozen over. I nearly got wiped out by a female trying to dive through a 6"x 6" window in her windshield while talking on the phone at the same time. She came flying up on the Buffalo Bayou bridge and it was fully iced over. She went curb bouncing all the way across.

ETA - There were also a few traffic lights that were not working near 290 and the Beltway.

If you're going, it needs to be fairly soon and definitely not tonight. Even leaving early in the morning would be a bad idea since the roads would still be iced over.

It is thawing out, but I’m sure some overpasses are still closed.

I'm in lake Charles right now. I tried to leave about an hour ago heading to Houston and bridges still closed. Gonna eat and see if they're open after 12.

This. I expect the roads will start to thaw then re-freeze at dark.

I thought the interstate 10 bridge is open but the 210 bridge is closed.

I'll have to look at different route I guess. Tried taking Prien Lake Rd from the casino and that bridge was closed too.
