They didn't know why the family was being let off first, but who the hell cares? Just chill for a second. Whether this was a military family or not, is that 30 seconds going to ruin your day? I can't stand people who think their time is so fricking valuable compared to the rest of us.
I've always thought there should be a system in place to get anyone with an hour or less layover off the place first. The way it currently is where someone with a short layover can lose half an hour just waiting to deplane is pretty shitty.

That's not really even relevant. There was nothing in the pilot's announcement that warranted booing. It was just jackassery on the part of the passengers.
Knowing now that they were bringing home their dead son, it simply magnifies what a bunch of assholes did.

I'm surprised that someone on that flight hasn't gone public and said "we had no clue their dead son was on the flight."
