Chemical castration is very effective and costs 1/20th of keeping him in prison.
I'd bet if you did a thorough study, they'd find that a shite ton of inmates have untreated bipolar that they self medicated with drugs or alcohol because there are almost no adult mental health facilities for the poor.

oh really? doesn't work ever? where are you getting that?
Usually when it "doesn't work" it is because they quit supervising or didn't keep the person on their regular meds. I'm just pointing out that there are alternatives to treat, and to SFPs point, there is a LOT more we could be doing preemtively.

the question is whether we want to be proactive and do something that prevents crimes (and costs us less money as a society) or keep up the status quo

Daigle is fricked in the head, and nothing you can do will fix him. He might be able to fool people into thinking rehab worked for him, but there is not a chance in hell that it will. His instincts will always revert back because his way of thinking is completely fricked

I said earlier that my arguments are not directly applicable to the fine gentleman that decides a forehead tattoo is the way to go. But anyway, you cannot possibly know whether or not an individual is a candidate to be rehabilitated. You can sit there and say "you can't rehabilitate someone that did crime X", but it doesn't work that way. you identify candidates that are good fits and get them back out of the system.

Both of them look pretty crazy too. Kevin Daigle killed the cop and this is Chad Daigle.
