The prom theme was “Welcome to the Jungle” for students at Christopher Columbus High School in Miami-Dade, but a caged menagerie — that included a tiger — was too much for some people, according to news reports.
Friday night’s prom at the Double Tree Hilton Miami Airport Convention Center featured the tiger and several other animals — and also included fire dancers dressed in animal costumes, WPLG-Ch. 10 reported.

Christopher Columbus High School, a private Catholic school for boys, said the animals at the prom were provided by a facility that is licensed by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
In a statement the school said the tiger, two macaws and an African fennec fox were on display and that two Miami-Dade police officers were present the entire time.

That’s straight out of an episode of Vice Principals

How many fat girls had jungle fever that night?

That's kind of fricked up. You can see how stressed out that Tiger is to be in a tiny cage with all those people, camera flashes, and loud music/sound around him.
Saw on the news this morning where they interviewed the Miami zoo director who said that is basically torture to a solitary animal like that.

Wasn’t this a plot from the HBO show Vice Principles?

Agree...the tiger clearly does not look anywhere near calm in that tiny cage.
All because some douche bag juniors with rich parents likely wanted to outdo last year's prom.

I thought Tiger once lived in Orlando, not Miami?

shite, I'm one of those people that thinks bringing Mike around Tiger Stadium is kind of fricked up and he is in a much better cage (far more "private"), under supervision of vets, and given sedatives to calm him down.

That's a little over the top, loud music and tigers don't mix.
If you want animals at your prom, go rent out the freaking zoo and have your prom there.
