Cadillac reveals plans for new SUV to compete with Tesla Model X

I don't think Cadillac will get away with not posting a profit for 15 years the way Tesla has.
ETA: I think even the higher end car brands (like BMW, Jaguar, and Cadillac) are at least two generations of ICE powered cars away from being able to shift entirely to electric if they intend to continue paying the bills.

They went public in 2010, first turned a profit in 2013.
Last quarter they showed a 300+ million net profit.

Ha!HA!HA! At the issue with the way tesla was helped out by the govt. Yet tesla people dont want to at the least acknowledge it. How sad is that we have gotten to the point companies going public that arent profitable? the stock market has become a gofundme type avenue to pay back early investors.
Im not anti-tesla as they have pushed innovation, but the way the act about how good of a business plan it is is just ridic.

Dunno about GM, but I do know Amazon went public without ever making a profit.
Additionally they continued to not make a profit for almost a decade.
Your railing at Tesla going public in spite of no profits is exactly what I’m talking about. You think it’s some kind of proof of government money propping them up when in practice it’s not uncommon.
Common sense News flash: if a company is making net money, they typically don’t have to sell a significant part of itself (what going public means) as a fundraiser to keep the company in line with management goals.
