I've rented several tuxes and the people gave me a colored shirt to go with my tux/vest rental.

Tuxedo rentals for weddings and prom events have done more to disparage formal attire than the 1980s could have ever dreamed.

People can wear whatever they'd like, but the idea that it should pass for a black-tie dress code is ridiculous.

I mean a tuxedo is a broad term, but when it comes to renting/buying, the discussion should revolve around a traditional black-tie affair dress code since that is standard for most events where a tuxedo would be recommended/required.

I buy a new tux every time I have to go to an event. I just order them online and throw them out when I'm done. I don't have time to go to the dry cleaners or return a rented tux

I bought this one from indochino about two years ago. I use it sporadically but I'd say about as much as you rent them and it looks as new as when I bought it.

Join their mailing list and wait for a coupon to arrive and then purchase it. I'd have someone that knows what they're doing take your measurements to ensure you're getting the best fit for your $

Calling it a tux is classier than calling it a monkey suit, but only slightly.

Actually this has me thinking. I need to buy a new tux for my wedding next year. What brands are good to look at? Not an OT Baller, but I'm not looking for a bargain here.
