This is such a I've listened to Dave Ramsey once before take. Much like people did to Rush Limbaugh.

The Franklin market where Dave lives (and me) has gone up over 125% since 2000, that includes going through the worst housing crash in US history. Anyone who hasn’t leveraged money here over the past 20 years is a fool.

I understand this is not typical, but with cheap money taking a 15 year for 2% vs a 30 for 2.5% is a terrible choice. If I could get 2.5% for 1000 years I would take it.

This is the fricker that went bankrupt then came back and gave simple advice that he should have followed from the beginning and people think he is a genius.

I will never understand massive houses unless you have a huge family, granted this is on the smaller size for mansions.

I’ve always said the same, but I imagine if you have money, you likely want to enjoy luxury amenities that add square footage to the living space. It would look a little silly to have an enclosed outdoor kitchen, large walk-in master closet, large walk-in pantry, living room + separate den area in the kitchen, dedicated dining room, etc..... and then 2 bedrooms

Nobody would buy that if you ever wanted to sell.

This proves the theory... The best way to make money is to give talks about how to make money.

If he paid 1.6 million for it he got a hell of a deal.

Can I negotiate Rachel Cruz as a wife in the deal? Baby step 8, marry a women whose dad is worth anywhere from 50-350 million.

I feel like Ramsey’s popularity has diminished in the last few years

Looks like 1.6 was just the property. How many acres?

Not sure how it is monetized, but any decrease in his AM station popularity is more than offset by his YouTube/podcast popularity. Not sure if YouTube revenue, podcasts, and online sales outweighs the lack of bulk buys from churches for his products

Looks like the 1.6 million was for 14 acres and change.

House looks good from the outside ( not pro athlete garish taste). But who could afford it besides Garth, Alan Jackson? Maybe Derick Henry? I’m guessing he’s hoping for someone from California in tech to buy it

Which he clearly explains almost every show, no one thinks he is a genius, just someone that has a simple common sense plan to get out of debt that will work for anyone that follows it.

Dave’s house is within our neighborhood.... He has a gate around his place in an already gated neighborhood... beautiful home, LeeAnne Rimes had a home next door on the same hill.

Luke, The gate is to keep the riff-raff like Luke Bryan and Luke Combs out.

I followed his plan and I’ll be 100% debt free by May. The plan itself works and no I didn’t skimp. I just cut back on a lot.

Well yeah, but if you have the discipline to follow his plan then you have the discipline to follow a much more lucrative plan.

Often the problem with people who are poor is that they don't have discipline.
