Bucks running together

So, I moved into the country just north of DFW. We renovated a little place.
There is a winter wheat field that I go park at and just watch animals. I see hogs and deer most of the time.
This evening, around 6:00, I saw 6 or 8 deer and they were all bucks. I mean shooter type bucks.
Is that common for the big bucks to hang out this time of year?

I remember in high school when my parents built our new house in the country, I would wake up and there would be about 20 deer (plenty of big ones) in front of my bedroom window.

They let you shoot one the first year you move there, out of season, without a license. If you shoot more than one it just counts against next season's tags.

These are called bachelor groups
At our hunting camp we still see them doing this all the way up to early October. They do this when their testosterone levels are low.
