It was nice being able to arrive an hour before departure and get through security in less than 10 mins at BTR when I was at LSU.

Midland
Lubbock
Amarillo
Corpus Christi
Tucson
Pensacola
Panama City
Ft. Myers
Witchita
Des Moines
Reno


All smaller MSAs than Baton Rouge.


And each one of those places are nowhere close to another major city

Only one close is ft Myers, and that is still 2 hours from Tampa

Proximity to NOLA is the driving force that keeps any BR airport traffic down. Just does not make a lot of logistical sense for the region, considering the lack of population
