This would be something I have no idea how Mayweather would handle.

Mayweather isn't known for knocking guys out in early rounds. He's known for going long rounds and winning roughly half of his bouts by decision. He's famous for speed not power

Yep. Mayweather is a very technical fighter. He wins on points. Would be hard to win a "street fight" this way.

Prime Mike Tyson would disintegrate Bruce Lee.

He'd turn into dust.

That's what I would imagine but I don't know enough about the honk king phooey to dismiss lee. Mayweather and lee are the same size though and mayweather's skill set would immediately be devalued by the mere allowance of kicking and tackling regardless of his opponent's skill set. I think in a street fight Bruce lee would kick his arse but I don't know.

Tyson? Too big, hits too hard, hits too fast, moves too fast and he bit off a guy's ear in a sanctioned boxing match so god fricking knows what he would do in a street fight. He also would find himself in the rare position of being the taller fighter

Also, Tyson looks like he punched above his weight and he was a 220 lbs fighter

Yep. Tyson could probably win in one punch if he landed a good one. The only way Lee could have a chance in that fight is if we has able to take out a knee almost immediately. I don't see that happening though.

People who have no martial arts experience think it's easy to take out someone's knee.

It's not.

Any kind of kick to the knee is legal in MMA, and many fighters have tried it, and at best all it does it bend your knee back a little bit for a split second and it doesn't phase the fighter.

I didn't say it would be easy, I just said that would be his only hope of being able to win that fight.

There was a thread here a while back with 60% saying Bruce Lee would beat Tyson in his prime for frick's sake. What do you think this board's answer is?

I'm saying I don't even know if it's possible to destroy someone's knee with a kick, much less do it without getting knocked out.

In order to have any chance, you have to do a push kick where you can get your weight behind it, and in order to do that you have to get in close.

Here is about the most successful shot to the knee I've seen:

And those guys are 220 pounds and it still didn't stop him. And that's the BEST one I've seen.

It's something that may add up over the course of a fight, but ending a fight like that in 1 shot?

Bruce Lee would have a better chance of brawling and hoping for a lucky knockout than ending a fight with a kick to the knee.

It's one of those things that sounds good and you think for sure it would work but in reality it really doesn't work.

Mayweather beat 49 other professional fighters.

Please name one person Bruce Lee has ever defeated in a real fight?

The fricking stupidity that has infested this place is ridiculous.

No one can give me one tangible arguments why Lee would beat Mayweather.
