Stumble Inn is two blocks from me. Younger crowd but solid bar

Stumble Inn
Last time I went to NYC...the Stumble Inn was the 1st place I went.
I mention one of their other bars...Off the Wagon, Down the Hatch, or 3 Sheets in my book.
I highly recommend Rudy's for drinks. $3 Bud bottles and free hotdogs

Would also like to see the 9/11 Memorial. But other than really just looking to get drunk and have a good time. Will be for there 3 full days. This is my first time.
Any suggestions?
Don't be annoying.

Manhattan Clam Chowder at The Grand Central Station Oyster Bar.
Walk the High Line.
Top of the Rock over Empire State Building or World Trade Center.

Wasn’t there a thread about a few guys taking an annual trip to NYC and one of them cheating on his wife?

I have a T-shirt from “off the wagon” somehow. That whole scene on Bleeker street is really young, like early 20’s.
Every neighborhood in NYC has a good bar. It’s not like Tigerland or something. If it’s open, the Biergarten near the high line is a safe bet for day drinking.

Go to Marie’s Crisis in the West Village. You’ll fit right in.

The ole “let’s send him to a gay bar” trick, like Oz in NOLA or Splash in BR.

That was my hood for a few years. Why the hell would a tourist be around there? Cheap drinks I suppose. Pony Bar always had a good $10 beer special

Pony bar is close to Sloan Kettering I think. Random place for a tourist. Decent place to grab a cold beer if staying at Ronald McDonald House.

Sort of. It’s around the block from Stumble Inn which is evidentially an OT tourist hotspot.. It was always B&T Bros the few times I went.

Pony bar has good beer, but I wouldn’t actually recommend going there for a tourist.
Back in the day, Murray Hill (32nd-34th on 3rd ave) had a string of bars—somewhat bridge/tunnel crowd, somewhat Northeast fratty (ie douchbags) but also some decent talent.

Is Yogi’s or the Patriot bar still open? Same owners as the Village Idiot (the best dive bar ever, sadly shut down).

Do yourself a favor and one you may remember all your life. Go to one or more of these: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Guggenheim, The Museum of Modern Art, The American Museum of Natural History, Central Park, the Highline, Battery Park, and a trip to Staten Island on the ferry. Then go to The Beer Store on Amsterdam Ave on the Upper West Side on your way to Yankee Stadium. Most all of that is free or for a reasonable “donation”. Ciao. Bella.

You are required to eat some NYC pizza. I recommend Joe's Pizza. We go to the Broadway location.

I have a suggestion. You can drink and have a good time a lot of places for a lot less money.
Yes, God forbid someone leave small town Louisiana for any reason to go out and actually explore the world

Roosevelt island is cool. Take the tram.

Russ and daughters for killer salmon and bagels. Katz deli. Go by the Dakota Hotel where Lennon was shot for historical standpoint, Chinatown, Korea Town, Macy's for lunch, grand Central station. Arthur avenue for real Italian. Walk the Brooklyn Bridge
