Mid 90’s I was sitting cross legged on the couch waiting for a gal to call. Sat so long I forgot my right lower leg went to sleep. So when she did call and I had to take a couple of steps to reach the phone I stepped on the side of my foot, twice. Then I hit the floor.
Immediate swelling, could only put weight on the heel, and some disfigurement.
Started soaking the foot in very hot water and manipulated it back into a normal looking shape. The next morning it looked like a baseball had been implanted but I could wear a loafer to work at the bank (2nd floor, no elevator).
Left work about 2pm to see a podiatrist who was quite impressed by my setting the 2 fractures and especially the restoration of tendon into the lateral notch that keeps the foot in shape. He just wrapped it tightly after a medicated whirlpool and gave me some crutches, no pain meds at all since I walked in cracking jokes and had driven my 5 speed around.

Go to an Airrosti if you have one in your area. Helps speed up the recovery and rehab.

If you walked on it, chances are it’s not broken. Unless it’s a tiny fracture

Probably a sprain. RICE is outdated so don't ice it. Keep exercising it. I sprained mine a month ago running. It was pretty bad. Listened to my doc and PT and I am already back running. Follow PEACE and LOVE or the METH methods for rehabbing injuries. RICE is 70's bs.
