This is how I feel. The sickos are always going to have their fetish. If their fetish is satisfied by computer generated images then it’s not hurting anyone else.

I disagree. Let’s take a normal straight single guy. Say his fetish is feet and sucking on womens toes. Is his fetish satisfied just by watching fetish videos of dudes sucking girls toes. Hell no. I guarantee every girl he dates he is trying to get them to let him suck her toes.

These sickos aren’t satisfied just watching kiddie porn. They will eventually try to create a situation where they can have the real thing.

Where were the warning signs" when someone commits a heinous crime. Well. There it is. What more of a warning sign do you need than people getting off to child porn?

This is an excellent point. So glad you said this.

fricking age-ists! It's not child porn, it's art for Minor Attracted Persons!

Are you saying this in jest or do you actually believe this?

I wonder how many states have strong enough kiddie porn laws to get someone for this?

Dunno. But consider if he had just made videos of "imaginary" but realistic children created by AI. If they are make believe children and no-one is exploited, are the images illegal?

I see this has been discussed.

Many, maybe even most, states (Louisiana included) already have laws on the books specifically criminalizing any sexually explicit AI deepfakes of minors. The key here is deepfakes - meaning the use of AI to make an image depicting a real person.

Other states (not sure if LA included) also have laws making it illegal to generate sexually explicit deepfakes of adults.

I don’t think there’s really a moral grey area with deepfakes. If you’re making fake naked pictures of a real person without their permission, that’s objectively wrong. Even worse if you’re distributing those images to others. And worse, still, if they’re a minor.

The bigger legal (and moral) grey area is non-deepfake AI images, where they aren’t depicting a real person at all.

My guess is non-deepfake images will ultimately be illegal in the case of depictions of children. It's just a step away from child pornography which is a sickness and illegal. It will not be illegal to produce erotic images and videos of non-persons in the same way pornography is 1st amendment protected.

slippery slope there

What this guy was doing is totally out of bounds in any civilized society. However so is murder and many other vices. Will it become illegal to create Horror movies/comics whatever? Where does societal overreach influence individual freedom for a so called majority morality? What your church believes doesn’t mean the government has a right or responsibility to enforce whatever that may be. Basically if someone isn’t truly being victimized the law should stay out of it.

I watch Horror movies and it doesn't make me want to kill someone. If someone is watching this shite, they're already invested in this deranged shite and would act on it given the chance.
