The story behind the statue, as told to me, was that Mrs. [Thelma] Holford [1906-1989] went to Italy and had a plaster cast made of herself and her dog, Bunnie. A full-size statue of Ms. Holford with Bunnie lying at her feet was then carved out of Italian marble. The detail is incredible, even down to the face of her watch. The statue is holding an inscription that reads "Don't Be Afraid To Stand Alone". The statue stands next to Mrs. Holford's above-ground vault located just west of the Cemetery office.
