This is our media in a nutshell. They maintain the narrative even if it's so far beyond what a reasonable person would believe.
One thing I've noticed about left leaning people is the huge amount of COPING involved when faced w/ defeat or evidence of being proven wrong. With that said, it's also the reason why they're competitive as well. An ideology that tells you nothing is ever your fault and there's some bogeyman pulling the strings to keep you unsuccessful is appealing to a lot of people.

"I don't know if we can even ever assess that because it just simply didn't have enough time because of the management's change in direction.

Trying to imply it was shut down because of a change in direction. The question then arises, was that change in direction due to
1 - a change in management
2 - the economics of the situation made continuing untenable
3- marketing data suggested there was no real demand for their product

1 would require more info like was the change in management because CNN+ was threatening the stability of CNN in general. So really 1 is as likely to indicate a failure as not.

2 or 3 are absolutely a failure

Bottom line, you pretty much have to believe in pixie dust to believe this was not a failure.

Who wants to pay extra for news?
