Sherwood would have been profitable for them. BREC would have had the cash to buy the course...so they wouldn't have had to service the debt.

Course was doing 35k rounds a year. Also closing Howell and Dumas would have provided more rounds for their other courses.

one thing it does is give them a course on that side of town, outside of santa maria

all of the brec courses seem to favor one or two sections of town, where the sherwood/oneal area has nothing

what about the existing default on sherwood? Brec would have to settle that debt somehow?

What does that solve? It would cost way more to run sherwood then it would howell, clark, and dumas.

I agree that this woul have been great.
At the point it closed Sherwood was in much better condition than all three of these. Also had a better location and loyal players.

You talking about the debt that was there? $2.7 mil? I'm no real estate guy, but they could have recouped some of it by selling Howell and Clark and maybe even Dumas.

Too late now, but it would have been good for the BR golf scene.

Get rid of Dumas and Howell.

Do not touch Webb, Beaver, and Santa Maria.

Tennis guys bought it. Have Big plans for it. I'm not sure of their time frame though.

It sounds like they are considering opening a range, but are trying to evaluate the feasibility of it. I can tell you I would use it.

by selling Howell

that would be a hard sell due to the surrounding community and demographics.

Plus the black community would throw a huge fit closing a historically black golf course.

They should of have turned city park into a par 3 with lights,

You would not be able to pay the electric bill on the amount of green fees it would bring in.

Who gives a shite. If the numbers dont work, they dont work. If they want to keep, they can buy it.

i could see them complaining about the nightly light pollution
