some of this is mind boggling it's like they almost have to be trying to [bleep] shite up this badly this consistently.... I mean she knew she was at risk she knew she had an elevated temperature dafuq is she doing getting on an airplane especially after obviously knowing a fellow nurse was already infected.

and then

quote:

Vinson first reported a fever to the hospital on Tuesday (Oct. 14) and was isolated within 90 minutes, according to officials.

oh 90 minutes eh .... she had a fever and everyone should have known she was at high risk of being exposed 90 minutes ... what did she just show up at the emergency room ... I mean I guess its better than 3 days but ho li fuk

What I'm saying is - Somebody representing the medical profession could've mentioned the flight.

You know there's more to the story. Why would they fire a trained, competent person? She either made herself out to be a complete a-hole or was sorry and they were looking for a good reason.

A friend of mine who's a travel nurse has already gotten calls begging her to go to Dallas. People are quitting over it.

This is a big concern I would think. This thing gets worse and worse and then the people who are supposed to be stopping it are so scared they quit showing up for work.

Actually I don't believe sexual orientation is a protected class, unless something has changed recently.

Anyway, to the original point. I doubt she was fired for contacting the CDC about Ebola protocols.

Well if you are given basically a sheet of plastic and some tape and told to "make the best of it" before stepping into a room with a patient with Ebola vomiting everywhere...what would you do?

Who knows...they didn't elaborate....so we don't really know what exactly she did.

They're not scared. They just don't think the hospitals are acting in the best interests of the people who potentially will be dealing with it face to face.

eTA:

Nurse

What I was trying to say.

Yes, many of the nurses on the phone said they are willing to care for ebola patients...afterall they are nurses. But that shouldn't mean they risk their lives for it. That they should be given the tools needed to properly protect themselves.

And if a hospital isn't gonna provide that...why should you work for them?

Luckily after a week plus of astronomically fricking things up on a level my mind can hardly comprehend someones head popped out of their arse and they finally realized maybe this hospital wasn't quite up to treating ebola .... hopefully going forward as space permits they will treat all these ppl in emery or nebraska.

I would probably go to work, but if my wife were a nurse I'm not sure I would let her go. Which I assume a lot of husbands may be doing now. I'm not trying to bash nurses here. I'm just throwing scenarios out there. Playing devil's advocate.

I would consider myself fascinated more than concerned.
