Wow! I woke up to pretty significant snow accumulation in North Houston. Then drove 40 miles at 6 a.m. on Houston interstates known for terrible traffic in the best conditions. Not once did I feel slightly unsafe. Maybe be careful on something like a huge overpass, but surface streets are just as safe as when it rains.
I took finals in 2008 at LSU when there were people snowboarding down the levee on the way to class. It's not that hard people. Don't drive like a jackass and you'll be fine.

Yeah, I'm not sure where the freakout over driving on snow came from. The roads aren't iced.

About 2" here in NW Houston and it's business as usual. No school closings or offices shut down
